  Sponsor a Community Dinner

The Welcome Ministry invites you to help us serve our homeless and hungry neighbors at one of our community dinners.  Every second Saturday of the month, the Welcome Ministry feeds between 90 and 140 of our homeless and hungry neighbors a meal.  The Welcome Ministry relies on the support of the community to provide these meals.

Volunteering at a community meal has been an enjoyable experience for many organizations and businesses such as JP Morgan and Starbucks.  Here is how you and your company can become involved in this service opportunity.  The Welcome Ministry works hard to develop relationships with our homeless and hungry friends, which means that our community dinners are very different from other programs.  For example, our guests never wait in line and are all served in their seats.  The benefit of our relationship building and our unique serving style is that our guests are very courteous, grateful and well behaved.

Past community dinner sponsors have done the following at a community dinner:

1.      Provide the meal: one main dish; a vegetable side; a salad (optional); dessert; juice; and coffee.

2.      Provide support for the operation of the Welcome Ministry ($500-$1,500).

3.      Provide volunteers for the community dinner (8-25 volunteers needed).

4.      Used community dinner involvement in their marketing campaigns.

5.      Bonded with co-workers, enjoyed their work and became more involved with community improvement

Thank you for taking the time to consider sponsoring a community dinner.  Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.  I hope you will consider sponsoring a community dinner.

Grace and peace,

The Rev. Megan Rohrer
